The Venice Film Festival begins its 75th edition today with a first headline: the official section hosts 21 men and only one woman, the Australian Jennifer Kent. And in fact, the film that opens this film week is titled (coincidences) First Man, the story of Neil Armstrong's moon landing directed by Damien Chazelle, responsible for the memorable La La Land.

It is precisely the Mexican director who presides over a jury in which the balance (yes, here) leans towards women: Naomi Watts, Nicole Garcia, Trine Dyrholm and the also director Sylvia Chang, as well as the actor Christoph Waltz, the director and screenwriter Paolo Genovese, his colleague Malgorzata Szumowska and the actor and director Taika Waititi.
Watts was the first star to appear in Venice in his capacity as a jury for the contest, and wearing great looks (Giorgio Armani, Valentino...) with the same success and even more charm than his colleague and friend Cate Blanchet , who was president of the panel at the last Cannes Film Festival. The actress promises to bring us a lot of fall 2018 fashion joy these days. But it will not be the only one, as it is expected that they will walk the red carpet to present their latest celebrity films in competition, such as Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton and Mia Goth (Suspiria), Claire Foy (First Man), Juliette Binoche (Doubles Vies) , Natalie Portman (Vox Lux), Lady Gaga (A star is born) or Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz (The favourite).
