Sara's family, a mother of two children, has maintained from the beginning that she suffered medical negligence while undergoing cosmetic surgery at a private clinic, Virgen de la Caridad in Cartagena. The operation was on December 2.

According to the complaint, serious injuries were committed to Sara in a liposculpture performed by a doctor who began his degree in Chile, continued in Murcia and concluded in Naples (Italy), who until May of last year was a cardiovascular surgeon for the Murcian Service of Health and who recently obtained a master's degree in aesthetic medicine and anti-aging from the Complutense of Madrid. The doctor, they say, does not have the five years of specialty in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.

The family has hired Ignacio Martínez, a lawyer from the Patient Advocate Association, to take legal action against the doctor. He decided to file a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office for the "serious injuries" suffered due to "professional negligence" during the intervention that Sara underwent. Serious injuries that have ended, unfortunately, in death.

"Don't be afraid, because I will always tell our little one about how brave his mom is"

The woman's relatives opened a page on Facebook, La Voz de Sara , which, in addition to serving as a tribute to women, has the vocation of being a platform to denounce other negligence in plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine. In this community, the father of Sara's children, Ezequiel, said goodbye to her with some emotional words: “You are going to take a piece of me, but you leave me the greatest part of our lives. Don't be afraid, because I will always tell our little one about how brave his mom is, how much she loves him."

"We have been able to say goodbye," Nora, Sara's sister, told LA OPINION by phone, who remained with her parents, Felisa and Damián, who have fought to the end with the motto 'Always strong, always united', as the posters in support of 'La Pingüina' said, as her relatives affectionately called her.

"It could have been avoided"

On Thursday, December 2, at 8 in the morning, Sara was admitted to the Virgen de la Caridad Clinic, where her surgeon rented an operating room to perform a liposculpture on her. The doctor informed the family that at first she had gone well and that she had become somewhat destabilized.

Sara reported that she already had a tummy tuck and was asking if she could undergo that cosmetic operation. The surgeon assured him that there was no problem.

"We are going to fight for justice, let no one doubt it," says the brother of the deceased

Her relatives believe that the woman did not need the operation "Because it is something that could have been avoided by the bad advice of a professional," says Sara's ex-partner, Ezequiel Nicolás.

What they thought was going to be a simple intervention was what sent him directly to the ICU of the Santa Lucía hospital in serious condition: "Here he arrives in an almost fatal state," says the brother.

A brother, Rubén, who wrote this day 1: "I thank God for the best older sister in the world, and we are going to fight for justice, there is no doubt about it."

In the petition he has opened on Change, the brother states: "Do you think Sara's case is the only one? Not at all, 9 out of 10 'cosmetic surgeons' do not have such preparation or qualification, making this a recklessness and a serious danger to people's lives, as well as a business for them; and all because the Government does not put a stop to this professional intrusion".

"We don't know anything," said Nora on the 1st, when asked if her lawyer had informed them of any new developments in the court proceedings, which, after the woman's death, became a homicide case.
