choose your concealer

"I like concealers with high coverage but they're light in consistency," says Andrew Gallimore, "Buff it to a sheer finish with a fluffy brush (like MAC's 217), or heat the product with your fingertips to cover the area without leaving too much product on the skin. This will prevent it from creasing, sliding or having to use too many powders to set it."

"The dark circles under your eyes are especially hard to hide," says Nam Vo. "My trick is to use Shiseido's Future Solution foundation, which has a very special formula. It sits under the eye like no other product does, and it doesn't settle into wrinkles. I apply it first with a brush and then go over it with a damp sponge. It's one of my best tricks."

keep it natural

"To keep the skin as natural as possible, focus only on the areas that need it, whether it's dark circles or blemishes, not the nose, as some tutorials show you," Gallimore advises.

mix your shades

Naoko Scintu says don't stick to one shade: "I usually use two concealers for dark circles, one as a base and one to highlight specific areas, like the inner corners. I tend to avoid going all the way to the lash line, as product builds up in the lines directly under the lower lashes," and her preferred formulas are ones that blend seamlessly into the skin.

Dark Circles: Cover Them Up

"The best trick for applying concealer around the eyes I learned from working with Salma Hayek," explains Florrie White, "She applies it directly with the applicator to the inner corners of the eyes, next to the nose, and along the orbit of the eye, where there are often shadows. Before blending it into the skin, allow the product to sit and dry for a few minutes, fanning your hands if necessary to facilitate this process. This ensures that the intensity of the product set in the areas that need it most. Blend the edges of the product with a pointed brush or your fingers, patting and rolling."

create definition

Gallimore has some smart advice for creating a defined lip line: "Swipe concealer along the edge of your lips, then use a small or pointed cotton swab dipped in non-greasy makeup remover to sculpt the shape of your lips." ".

Set the makeup

"I like to dust my concealer with a very fine powder so it lasts a long time. My favorite is Jurlique's Rose Silk Finishing Powder, which is translucent and smells great too," says Scintu.
