Waterproof or water-resistant cosmetics are usually used in summer so that sweat and heat do not affect makeup, although they are also still used in autumn and winter for events and parties.
However, they have their heads and tails: the fact that it is such a resistant make-up makes it difficult to remove at the end of the day. We tell you how to remove makeup without damaging the skin and also how to remove waterproof makeup stains from clothes.
Cleaning routine for waterproof makeup
To remove make-up you will need cotton pads (better if they are reusable), a biphasic cleanser and micellar water.
- Start by removing make-up from the most sensitive areas: the eyes and lips. To do this, shake the biphasic cleanser and apply it to a cotton pad. Place the disc over your closed eyes for a few seconds, then use gentle movements to remove the makeup. Do the same procedure with the lips.
- To clean the rest of the face, soak a cotton pad with micellar water and pass it over the entire face using soft, circular movements.
- Finish off the cleansing process by applying your preferred moisturizer or serum.
How to remove waterproof makeup stains
Waterproof makeup is very powerful, so it easily penetrates fabrics and creates hard-to-remove stains. If you have stained your clothes with your waterproof makeup, fear not, as there is a very simple solution.
To permanently remove the remains of resistant makeup from clothes, you will only need dishwashing soap. This product is one of the most suitable for removing waterproof makeup thanks to its anti-grease capacity. In this way, apply a few drops of soap on the stain, let it sit for a few minutes and then put it in the washing machine as usual.
