Beijing, Jul 15 (Xinhua) - China strongly opposes the decision of the British government to prohibit Huawei's participation in 5G networks, the spokeswoman for China Chunying's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Wednesday.
Hua made the comments in response to a request for comments at a press conference.The British government announced on Tuesday that the purchase of new 5G equipment of Huawei will be prohibited after December 31, 2020, and that the entire Huawei team will be removed from the 5G networks of the country at the end of 2027.
United Kingdom, in collaboration with the United States, discriminates and excludes Chinese companies without any solid risks, said Hua.
The decision, which flagrantly violates the principles of the market economy and free trade rules, as well as the relevant commitments assumed by the United Kingdom, will seriously damage the legitimate interests of Chinese companies and the foundation of mutual trust in cooperation between cooperationChina and the United Kingdom, said the spokeswoman.
